Parasite Week 2021

Updated: Feb 2

By Christina Anaya

The American Society of Parasitologist’s Public Relations committee is sponsoring “Parasite Week 2021” which will be held March 1st-5th. During this time, we would like to share the fascinating lives of parasites with classrooms via Skype or Zoom.

How it works: These sessions last 30-50 minutes and can include general information about parasites, a talk about a specific parasite, or the research the scientist is currently working on, among others. The parasitologists can do any combination of talking and then a question/answer session. A strategy will be developed between the classroom teacher and the parasitologist a few days before the event. The week-long nature of the program allows for flexibility to meet classroom schedules and different time zones in order to reach as many students as possible.

Yes! I want to participate! If you are an ASP member who would like to participate by presenting about parasites to a classroom, please sign-up by contacting Christina Anaya to discuss availability and classroom matching.

Thank you for helping bring parasitology to classrooms!
